CAPTOR MES and PRISMA implementation
After a strong carrier, the enterprise gains an important volume, allowing the participation of different multinational groups. Currently the market share is of 94% in Spain and of 15% in Europe, and the group owns a 45% of the global market.
The company raised the necessity of a change in the way of managing: a “cultural change” is needed, an also to evolve from graphic “arts” to competitiveness concepts and services. It is necessary to have basic information and a platform to tackle 5Ss, SMED and TPM projects, and to have reliable data to improve the management.
Needs
The information is collected from the plant based on manual parts with the following limits:
- Data reliability problems: it is neither possible to know the used hours, nor the truthful data regarding the intermediate inventory.
- Productive lines: lost time and its causes are unknown. It is not possible to detect and to analyse the small stops.
- Maintenance: the information available is very poor for the maintenance management.
Objectives
- Automate the production data gathering and its updating in the management systems in a simple, rapid and reliable way.
- Get integrated information, in real time, to feed the plant management processes and the Direction decision making.
Implementation
- Of CAPTOR in every productive section. The data are collected in the manufacturing plant either directly from the productive lines, or by means of tactile screens.
- CAPTOR presents, in real time and in every corporative network point, the key indicators of the process and the productivity escape (OEE)
- The systems works integrated with the corporative ERP and with the scheduler
- Later on, PRISMA has been installed
Results
- The enterprise has experienced an important cultural change and its management and its action taking for the productivity improvement are based on its plant management tool CAPTOR
- In the improvement meetings, data is not any more a topic treated: some plans are proposed to improve them
- The change is so important that a staff incentive agreement has been decided, based on an OEE improvement by CAPTOR
